Sewing on the Coast is more than a sewing retreat. It’s a getaway designed for you to relax, create, learn, laugh, and spend time with people who love sewing just as much as you do. We will be staying in luxury accommodations at the beautifully renovated Markham Hotel in Gulfport, Mississippi, just steps away from everything the Gulf Coast has to offer.

Not included: lunch on your own during the shopping excursion, travel to Gulfport, and a sewing machine unless you rent one.
You won't have to go far
When you're ready for a sewing break, you won't have to go far. The Markham offers dining, a coffee shop, swimming pool, workout center and much more.
The downtown location puts you within walking distance of restaurants, shopping, and local experiences, and near the Mississippi Aquarium, Jones Park and Fishbone Alley.
Nearest airports: Gulfport-Biloxi (GPT) and New Orleans (MSY).

One evening during the retreat. Sign up on your questionnaire and pay Jason directly when you arrive.
Everyone is welcome. Come by yourself or bring your sewing bestie.
You’re going to leave with new memories and probably a few new friends, too. The projects are beginner friendly, and you'll be surrounded by fellow sewists ready to lend a hand. A friend who isn't registered can stay with you in a single/private room; there's a $350 fee if they dine with the group, and I need to know ahead of time.
Choose your room
Spots are limited, so reserve yours as soon as possible. Prices are per person and paid in full. There are no deposits or payment plans.
The paint party with Jason Pittman ($75) is a yes/no question on your questionnaire and is paid to Jason on arrival.
After you reserve
- A confirmation email arrives with a link to the attendee questionnaire.
- Fill out the questionnaire: roommate, allergies, accessibility, T-shirt size, paint party and so on.
- Final details come from the retreat team a few weeks before arrival.

What if I can't come after I've paid?
All payments are non-refundable, but you can transfer your registration to another Sew and Sheaux retreat if you let us know in writing at least 60 days before arrival, subject to availability. Less than 60 days out, there's no transfer, credit or refund, so travel insurance is recommended.
How do shared rooms work?
Each person buys their own double/shared ticket and names their roommate on the attendee questionnaire. Coming on your own? Write “Need a roommate” on the questionnaire.
Can I bring someone who isn't registered?
Yes. A friend can stay with you in a single/private room. There's a $350 fee if they dine with the group, and we need to know ahead of time.
Can I rent a sewing machine?
Yes. Sewing machine rental is $50, added at checkout. There are 10 machines available per retreat.
What should I bring?
All your WIPs: quilts, bags, and any projects you've been wanting to finish. Kits for the rag bag and laptop quilt are provided.
What's the paint party?
An optional evening paint party with Jason Pittman. It's $75 per person, answered yes/no on your questionnaire, and paid to Jason on arrival.
I have food allergies.
Tell us on the attendee questionnaire and we'll plan for you.
Will I be on camera?
A media team is on site at both retreats. Attending means consenting to the use of your image, likeness and voice. If you have concerns, contact Angela before registering.
I'm a beginner. Is that okay?
Absolutely. The projects are beginner friendly, and there are helpers when you get stuck.
Policies
Cancellation and transfer policy
Because of the advance planning, venue commitments, meals, supplies, project kits, and other expenses associated with hosting Sewing on the Coast, all retreat payments are non-refundable.
We understand that sometimes plans change. If you are unable to attend your scheduled retreat, you may transfer your registration to another Sew and Sheaux retreat as long as you notify us in writing at least 60 days before the arrival date of your originally scheduled retreat. Transfers are subject to availability. If the new retreat price is more, you’ll be responsible for the difference.
If your request is made less than 60 days before the retreat, your registration will no longer be eligible for transfer, credit or refund. Registrations may not be transferred to another person unless approved in writing by Sew and Sheaux LLC.
Because unexpected situations do happen, please consider travel insurance to help protect your investment.
By completing your registration and payment, you acknowledge and agree to this cancellation and transfer policy.
Photography, video and media release
Sew and Sheaux will have a media team on site throughout the retreat capturing photographs and video of the event. This content may be used for future Sew and Sheaux advertising, social media, website content, promotional materials, and marketing for upcoming retreats and events.
By attending the retreat, you acknowledge that you may be photographed or recorded and grant Sew and Sheaux permission to use your image, likeness, and/or voice in promotional and marketing materials without additional compensation.
If you have concerns about being photographed or filmed, please contact us before registering for the retreat so we can discuss available accommodations.
